I am only posting this because in my mind this will be one of the neatest things I have ever missed out on in my whole life.
An appeal from Darren O'Donnell:
I NEED YOUR AIR. PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY!!!
I'm doing an event called Ballroom Dancing for Nuit Blanche. It's an all-ages dance party DJ-ed by 10-yr-olds in a gymnasium filled with 2700 rubber balls. Problem is, the balls require inflating.
That's where you come in. It will be easy. Here's the math: 2700 balls divided by 20 volunteers is 135 balls each. Each ball takes 10 seconds to inflate, totaling 22.5 minutes for the 135 balls. Easy. If, at any give time, we have ten people pumping (there will be ten pumps) we should be able to do, say, 1000 per hour and will be finished in less than 3 hours with plenty of time for breaks.
Remember: it's for the kids. : )
WHEN: Saturday September 30th anywhere from 9AM to Noon with the intention to be finished inflating by 3PM
WHERE: University Settlement House, 23 Grange Road - just sound of OCAD and the AGO. South end of Grange Park.
WHY: Because you love joy.
Please RSVP to darren@mammalian.ca so I know I've got the job covered.
Thanks,
Darren
