Goon Doon, Goh Doh

This is the language i learned to speak today when djembe drumming with my students. Goon Doon (left, right) is what you say when you smack the middle of the drum and Goh Doh is what you say when you are tapping the outside. "If you say it, you can play it". Words to live by.

Which leads me to the ridiculous to-do list I just completed for myself for the next two days -- You know that when you have to write down things that usually don't feel stressful or in-a-hurry that there is a storm up ahead. I can feel my brain cells going into hibernation for the next three weeks as I gear up for reporting and whatever else I need to accomplish...... I look forward to the big milkshake and pedicure I will be treating myself to on the afternoon of June 30th. Until then.... send me telepathic (or real! they're even better!) hugs because I'll need them.
