Some things I observed today (in chronological order):

• fluffy snow is fun to brush off your car.
• it's sad when you discover a rust spot on your car's roof and think that maybe the roof will cave in soon (a slight over-dramatization I know...)
  
• publishing companies have lots of money to make on curriculum changes, and i enjoy the lunch they provide at seminars.
  
• scenario, decide what you will about it: sitting at the table eating lunch with some Kindergarten teachers and one of them is talking about how she feels naked now that her cell phone is broken, she is always talking to her friends while stuck in traffic etc. other teacher says "i don't have any friends to talk to on my cell phone!!!" and everyone laughs like this is the funniest thing they have heard all day. i cry a little inside.
• the gym is a great place to people watch but you have to be careful. you may be found out if you are using the mirrors as a tool to hide your watching.
• fritatta is delicious.
• i haven't watched skating on t.v. in quite some time because i thought i didn't like it anymore but i think i may. also i can't wait for blades of glory.
  
• figure skating costumes are really quite bizarre. really.
  
• clapping during figure skating routines is not cool, expecially during competitions. actually, routines that inspire clapping by audience members in a competition are also uncool.
• the japanese are usually good at anything they set their minds to. examples: bridge building (or anything architectural), space-age haircuts, snowboarding, and now, apparently, figure skating.
  

My favourite part was the Paradoxataur girlfriend.

My friend Kevin was sharing this and I couldn't help passing it on. Set aside 42 minutes. It's worth pretty much every second.

I have reached a new low in the balancing act of boredom versus lack of energy. It's a gorgeous day and I'd love to go for a walk, but the walk to the door this morning took it out of me. So, this morning I have:

• poured some juice
• eaten some vitamins / drugs
• watched an episode of Sex in the City
• updated my report cards so my coworkers can kindly hand them out for me (THANK YOU a million times over)
• blown my nose
• opened the curtains so I can watch the puppies in the dog park
  

And then.

In the spirit of the high school library, reading YMs with the boys and laughing at how RIDICULOUS / slash / strangely entertaining those quizzes are.... I did some similar "What Character Are You?" quizzes....

Is it possible to be an old-fashioned romantic and a fashionplate for the modern age, all at once? Somehow, you make it work. Things you can do when you're home sick....

• call the substitute teacher line and know that there is noone assigned to your class... wonder what tomorrow will be like when all the routines you've been working on for the past 6 months go out the window *POuF*
• eat a banana
• drink some juice
• take drugs
• watch daytime t.v. using rabbit ears that only come out when you're (a) sick or (b) the olympics are on
• start reading chapter one of "Too Much, Too Late" for the 4th time over - because you keep falling asleep
  
• contemplate doing work and decide against it
• read the free weekly newspaper
• plan a pretend holiday in which money/time are of no consequence
• call friends you never get to talk to
• try to go for a walk but cut it short for fear of fainting in the gutter and never getting out
• contemplate asking neighbours over for tea?
• wish life were like a t.v. show and somebody would come bearing soup and videos
• ...............
